The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that at any time, more than 1.4
million people worldwide are affected by infections acquired in hospitals
Cleaning, disinfection and sterilization saves lives and improves patient outcomes.
 Between 5% and 10% of patients admitted to modern hospitals in the developed
world acquire one or more healthcare associated infections
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimate that approximately
1.7 million healthcare associated infections occur annually in hospitals in the
United States, and are associated with nearly 100,000 deaths each year
Healthcare- associated infections are also an important problem in extended care
facilities, including nursing homes and rehabilitation units
Transmission of healthcare associated pathogens most frequently occurs via the
hands of healthcare workers, who inadvertently contaminate their hands during
various patient care activities
Less frequently, contaminated surfaces in healthcare facilities may contribute to the
spread of healthcare associated pathogens. Contaminated surfaces can act as
sources from which healthcare workers contaminate their hands, and in some
instances, patients acquire pathogens following direct contact with contaminated
equipment or other surfaces
Providing patients with a safe environment of care requires a high level of
compliance with recommended hand hygiene policies and appropriate cleaning and
disinfection of medical equipment and environmental surfaces

Patients colonized or infected with healthcare associated pathogens frequently
contaminate items in their immediate vicinity with pathogens that may remain viable
on surfaces for days to weeks
Healthcare workers can contaminate their hands by touching contaminated
surfaces, and can transmit pathogens if hands are not cleansed appropriately
Routine cleaning of patient rooms is often suboptimal
Inadequate cleaning of rooms after discharging a patient with
VRE or MRSA puts subsequent patients admitted to the room at risk of acquiring the organism
Improved cleaning/disinfection of the environment can reduce the risk of patients
acquiring multidrug resistant pathogens
Monitoring the effectiveness of hospital housekeeping procedures is needed to
assure that surface contamination is reduced to a minimum

Formaldehyde, chlorine dioxide gas, and hydrogen peroxide
for Area Decontamination once used they are no longer effective
–no residual efficacy, the surfaces are contaminated again as soon as removed. In
order for these efforts formaldehyde, chlorine dioxide gas, and hydrogen peroxide
to work as effective as Nanosterisol the application would have to be applied
24/7 every 10 minutes! formaldehyde, chlorine dioxide gas, and hydrogen peroxide
are extremely toxic to people, the environment and equipment. Nanosterisol is not!
Status QUO!  Area decontamination refers to the use of vaporous disinfectants to
decontaminate areas such as rooms in a building or a contaminated
laboratory .(Once used , it no longer is effective as soon as it is turned off)
Vaporous disinfectants have been used in the pharmaceutical industry for more
than 10 years, and were used to eliminate anthrax from contaminated government
office buildings and post office facilities in 2001 ( The ingredients in Nanosterisol
have been proven to kill microorganisms for over 100 years the genius is in the
NANO technology, engineered to work in indoor lighting applied electrostatic )
Vaporous disinfectants that have been used for area decontamination include
formaldehyde, chlorine dioxide gas, and hydrogen peroxide and peroxide
are extremely toxic to people, the environment and equipment

peroxide, which is catalytically converted to water and oxygen, leaving no lasting
